Prerequisites
- Know your iTunes username and password. If you are using itunes@royalelect.com a backup and restore will not be possible and you will have to start your new iPad as a new device and you can skip the Existing Device section.
- iOS device is up to date. Go to Settings > General > Software Update
Existing Device
- Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Backup (or Settings > iCloud > Backup), then turn on iCloud Backup.
New Device
- Power on the device
- Select your Language and Location
- Join a wi-fi network.
- At the Apps & Data screen select ‘Restore from Backup’
- If you see the message ‘Royal Electric will automatically configure your iPad’ then you can SKIP the Enroll in Meraki step.
- Log in your iTunes account. See notes below about iTunes accounts.
- At the Configure a Passcode screen press the Configurations button and select a 4 digit PIN. Enter in a 4 digit PIN.
- Enable Siri if you wish
- Configure Touch if you wish
- Enabling Sharing on both Apple and Developers.
- Install Meraki if applicable
- You will start getting prompted for credentials
- If the pop up references iTunes account then this is your iTunes password and will need to be entered for each application that needs to get installed.
- If the pop up references Royal Exchange then this is your Royal computer/email password and should only need to get entered once.
